Refugees Welcome! is a 501(c)3 nonprofit embedded in the University of Massachusetts Boston’s Center for Peace, Development, and Democracy. The Medical Center for Refugees in Linköping, Sweden, includes a medical ward for refugees and asylum applicants. It was started in January, 1986 and is financed by the Swedish Immigration Board. It took a refugee crisis, in other words, to get a sense of how the EU’s general socio-economic crisis could be resolved.
